Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") outlines our practices and policies, the kinds of information we may collect from you when you access or use the Platform, the reasons for and methods of collection, use, and disclosure of the information we gather from you for your use of the Platform, as well as our security practices and procedures for safeguarding your privacy in relation to information shared with us. By accessing and using the Platform, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Policy, which creates a legal contract between you and Astrodeep.

This Policy must also be read in conjunction with and construed in accordance with all applicable laws of the country from which you access and use the Platform, including provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation, the (Indian) Information Technology Act, 2000 ("IT Act"), and other similar laws recognized in your jurisdiction. This Policy is officially recognized as an electronic contract between Astrodeep and you.

We reserve the right to amend, change, or update this Policy at our discretion. You agree to be bound by any updated policies through your continued access and/or use of our Platform and subsequently our Services after any such changes have been duly notified to you. Any changes to the policy will be sent to the email address registered with us. We recommend keeping your email address active and correct for smooth communication. We will not be liable if the registered email is inactive, incorrect, or not updated, for any claims regarding communication gaps, liabilities, or legal claims with respect to this policy.

1. Definitions

For clarity and compliance with jurisdictional requirements, we have provided an exhaustive list of terms repeatedly used in this Policy:

  • "Account" shall have the same meaning as provided under the Terms of Service.
  • "Non-personal Identification Information" includes, but is not limited to, browser name, computer type, and technical information about your means of connection to the Platform, such as the operating system, internet service providers utilized, and other similar information related to your access or use of the Platform and Services.
  • "Personal Identification Information" includes information voluntarily shared by you that can be reasonably used to ascertain your identity, whether the information provided is true or not. This includes, but is not limited to, your name, email address, phone number, and residential address disclosed when creating an Account or using the Services. If you choose not to share this information, it may prevent us from providing complete access to the Platform and its Services.
  • "Sensitive Personal Data or Information (SPDI)" means information relating to you which directly or indirectly can identify you, including: (i) credentials for use of the Platform; (ii) financial information; (iii) physical, physiological, and mental health conditions; (iv) sexual orientation; (v) medical records and history; (vi) biometric information; and (vii) any other information considered sensitive under applicable law.
  • "Information" refers collectively to Non-personal Identification Information, Personal Identification Information, and SPDI.
  • "Third Party" refers to any party other than you and Astrodeep.

2. Information Collected

For the access and/or use of our Services, we may collect the following information from you:

Information you voluntarily provide:

This includes all information you provide when accessing and/or using the Platform, such as details for Account creation and additional information provided during the provision of Services.

Information collected from Third-Party Sites:

You may register using your existing Instagram, Facebook, Gmail, or similar Third-Party accounts. You can link your Account with these Third-Party Sites by providing login information or allowing us access, as permitted under their respective terms. It is your responsibility to read and remain updated with the policies of those Third-Party accounts.

Cookie Policy:

A cookie is a small piece of data that a web server stores on your browser. Cookies help remember information unique to you. No personally identifiable information is stored in the cookies. Our cookies help extend the functionality of the website and aid in usage analysis. You may set your browser to reject cookies, but turning them off may prevent parts of our Platform from working properly. Astrodeep does not provide third-party access to any cookie information except as previously listed.

Sensitive Personal Data or Information (SPDI):

For accuracy in providing our services, you may be asked to reveal certain SPDI. We promise to protect the information you supply by adhering to reasonable security policies and procedures, along with relevant privacy laws.

Data collected based on usage:

  • Aggregated Data: We may perform research on customer demographics, interests, and usage patterns based on Personal Data. This research may be aggregated and shared with affiliates, agents, or business partners. Personal information is not contained in this aggregate data.
  • Device and Usage Information: We might gather data about your device (type, OS, carrier, unique device ID, time zones, language) and your usage (logins, features used, latitude, longitude, and searches conducted).
  • Push Notifications: We might request to send push notifications. You can disable these in your device settings.
  • Verification of Information: We may occasionally require additional information to confirm your identity for access to, or deletion of, your Information.

3. Use of Personal Data

Astrodeep adheres to this Policy when using the Personal Data you supply. We will use it in connection with the specific reason it was provided (e.g., replying to your support emails).

Other than as described above, we will notify you before sharing your Information with Third Parties and give you the opportunity to opt out. Denying permission may result in a limited ability to provide our complete Services.

4. Disclosure of Collected Information

Astrodeep does not sell or involve itself in the business of selling your information. Disclosure is encrypted and strictly conforms to worldwide data privacy laws. Exceptions include:

  • Business Transfers: Your data may be shared during a diligence process or transferred in the event of a corporate sale, merger, or reorganization.
  • Service Requirements: To generate personalized astrological insights, we may use your Personal Data. Your username and profile photo may be included, but sensitive data like gender or exact birth details will not be publicly disclosed. AI services used by us will have access to necessary data strictly for providing you with the best results.
  • Communications: You agree to receive communications (including transactional or promotional messages) via SMS/RCS, Email, or WhatsApp regarding our Services.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose Information if required for a lawful purpose or compliance with legal obligations.

5. Security

We work hard to protect your information against unauthorized access, unlawful alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, as no data transmission is 100% safe, we cannot guarantee perfect security and are not liable for security lapses caused by uncontrollable external factors.

You must keep your login credentials private. You are ultimately responsible for protecting the confidentiality of your Account. Let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorized use.

We restrict access to personal information to employees who need it to fulfill obligations, have received necessary training, and are subject to strict confidentiality agreements.

6. Exclusions

Minors: We reserve the right to terminate accounts of minors at our discretion if the environment is deemed unsafe for them. We do not deliberately collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us.

Unsolicited Information: Data collected outside of the Services or sent unsolicited (e.g., feedback or forum posts) is not covered by this Policy and is considered non-confidential.

7. Links to Third Parties

The Services may link to Third-Party websites or applications not under our control. Their respective privacy policies apply, and we are not responsible for their practices. You are encouraged to review the policies of any Third-Party platforms you access.

8. Amending or Updating User Information

You have the right to request access to the information we hold about you. You may also review, modify, update, or request the removal of personal data that is unreliable or irrelevant, subject to statutory retention obligations and applicable legislation.

9. Rights of Users

By using Astrodeep from outside of India, you agree that your data may be processed in India or other countries. Laws governing privacy may differ from your country of residence.

Depending on your region (such as under UK/EU law), you may have the following rights:

  • The Right to Access: Request copies of your personal data.
  • The Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • The Right to Erasure: Request the deletion of your data under certain conditions.
  • The Right to Restrict Processing: Restrict how we process your information (may limit access to our Platform).
  • The Right to Notification: Be notified regarding the rectification or erasure of your data.
  • The Right to Data Portability: Request that we transfer your data to another organization.
  • The Right to Object: Object to the processing of your personal data.
  • The Right against Automated Decision-making: Protection from decisions based solely on automated processing/profiling.

10. User Declarations

By using the Platform, you acknowledge and declare that:

  • You understand that your Information is being collected and the purpose of such collection.
  • You understand who the intended recipients of the information are.
  • You have the option not to provide the requested data.
  • You have the right to withdraw your consent in writing, understanding that Astrodeep may subsequently stop providing services that rely on that information.
  • You have read and understood this Privacy Policy and all other policies governing the Platform.

11. How Users may request data deletion?

All personal information related to your Account will be permanently deleted upon the deletion of such Account. You may request to delete your Account by sending an email to app.astrodeep@gmail.com.
